Project Loops (Cycles)

You may not create loops in your project. A project with a loop in it will never end. So, unless you’re planning your vacation, you would like for the project to end.

In order to prevent project loops, all dependencies in the Visual Plan editor must be created from left to right in the project editor. If you attempt to create a dependency from right to left the system will beep and the dependency will not be created.

For the same reason, a task must begin no sooner than any of its predecessors. If you attempt to move a task so that it is to the left of (or before) any of its predecessors the system will beep and the move will not be completed.
