Critical Path Calculations

SharedPlan automatically calculates the path through the project with no slack time (the critical path). This path is known as the critical path.

SharedPlan displays the dependency lines between tasks that are on the critical path with a red line.

It is possible, although increasingly unlikely as your project gets larger, for there to be multiple paths through the project with no slack time. SharedPlan will select the path with the most tasks and if the number of tasks is equivalent it will select that path with the most recently added tasks.

As you add tasks, dependencies, or modify task dates you may see the critical path change.
