To create a task in the Visual Plan Editor double click in any open area of the planning canvas.
The task is the rectangular box with dates and numbers surrounding it. There are two primary areas of the task: the task name area and the task frame. In the task name area you may provide brief text that describes the task. The task frame is used to select, move and resize the task.
By default, the date in the top left corner is the planned start date and the number in the top right corner is the planned finish. You may configure the task attributes displayed using SharedPlan Pro->Preferences->Appearance on Mac OS X and on Windows, Tools->Configure SharedPlan->Appearance. Also, under Appearance you may select the Visual Plan color scheme of your preference; this feature is explained in more detail another part of this document.
Name this task by clicking in the task and typing the appropriate text. There rest of the task attributes are defined using the Task Information Editor (double click in the text area to open the task info editor).
