Basecamp Import

What You'll Need

To use this SharedPlan Central feature you will need to have your Basecamp base URL, your Basecamp user name, and your Basecamp password.

Your Basecamp account must have API access enabled. To enable API access, login to Basecamp, click on the Account (Upgrade/Billing) tab, and then scroll down to the Basecamp API section and enable access.

Note that we do not keep your Basecamp account login information any longer than required to import your selected projects.

What SharedPlan Imports From Basecamp

SharedPlan allows you to select the project you would like to import. Once selected, the project is imported, as well as all associated milestones, companies, people, todo lists, and todo items.

Todo lists that are associated with a milestone become a sub project in SharedPlan.

Access Basecamp Import Service In Central

Login to Central, click on Tools and Help (1) in the left menu and then click on Import Basecamp Project (2).

Provide Basecamp Login Information

On this page, provide the requested information (base URL, user name, and password) and then click on Get Basecamp Project List.

Note that your Basecamp account must have API access enabled. To enable API access, login to Basecamp, click on the Account (Upgrade/Billing) tab, and then scroll down to the Basecamp API section and enable access.

SharedPlan Central will then display a list of your Basecamp projects. Select the one you would like to import (1) and then provide the project name and project goal for the new SharedPlan Central project and click on Import Basecamp Project (2).

After the project has been imported you will see a message indicating the successful import.
